KZ550 specs? was created by Trev
Does anyone have the specs for a KZ550? I'm not sure of the year I just got it from a friend for $200 :) .

Thanks Trev

duncan thank you very much for the info.

Is there any way to decode the vin to tell what year/model it is? I haven't gotten the title from my friend yet and he had forgotten the year.

I know on the motor the #'s are KZ550AE039962 and on the neck they are 1CB502721 also JKAKZFC1. My friend thought it might be an 84 or 89 butt was not sure. It is chain driven.

Duncan... Please disregard my note asking you put all this great info into Filebase... I didn't read down to bottom of this thread when I shot it off... REAL GOOD INFO! I love the 550... I had an 81 GPZ550 and thought it was the one of the nicest bikes I ever owned. Of course, I was a lot lighter then bwhahahaha
