Aloha guys. It's been a while. For some reason, this year been very busy for me, specially last few month.

My 86' Monte Carlo SS has produce what I thought was a rod knock (more on that later) so halted my motorcycles and decided to pull the motor out. I have another DD so no rush, right? Well, while I was prepping to remove the motor, I got rear-ended on my DD 2000 MB E320, which only had 66k when we bought it last June because the DD I had back than, which was 2004 Lincoln LS ran out of parts (I needed new radiator fan motor but N/A new) so instead of selling to a poor soul, we decided to junk it. Anyway, the insurance adjuster claimed total, so I had to look for another car, but my wife loved that car so much, and I found another 2000 E320 at 68k (when totaled, our E320 was at 69k) so bought it from the seller. Found out after the fact that our C&C decided to change the law and need everything current before title transfer ( I was going to fix everything, AFTER I transfer the title. Besides, it was going to be my wife's DD) so another hiccup there. Had to wait about a month before I could get the title transfer.

After that, I finally pulled the engine from my Monte Carlo SS (which was on hold because of the title transfer hiccup), This time was bit different from before as I now have two motorcycle in my parking, so had to find another spot for the bikes to park. Anyway, when everyting was said and done, found out that for some reason, it was my crank that was a corrupt. So now, I'm collecting parts for my SBC 305 (damn! It's so hard to find Gen-1 SBC 350 nowdays) and for some reason, Amazon Prime now needs more than a week to deliver to my area.

Whew! Did I leave anything out? Anyway, finally to the question. Since everything is on hold,  I decided to go back to my motorcycles to see what can I do. Most of the big stuff is done. I now need to work out the details. My KZ, headlight for a starter, electrical work, install new plastic fenders, yada yada yada. My ZX-7, I still need to put some small stuff together so finding all the parts I put away more than a few month ago. Don't you hate getting old?

OK. Finally to my question. I have a smog head with air suction port in the exhaust port. I also have non-smog valve cover I got from member (riturbo) here, My question is simple. Do I still need to plug the port in the cylinder head where cam cover sits? Or can I just swap out the cover? It's a hot exhaust gas, so probably need to plug it, but if I can get by without it, it will be lot simpler since I have so much stuff I need to do. But if it does call for plugs to be install, I don't want to skip that important step.

Sorry for the lengthy drama story before the very simple question. But at this moment, I just can't wait for the year to be over........................
