Yeah, we sent martin csr a PM yesterday AM.  We can see the PM we sent, but no idea if martin has seen / can see it & no reply so far.  Guessing anyone else sees a “This message contains secure information”. post within this thread.

My understanding is that only the person receiving the pm can see the message. The rest of us see what I copied. That's what makes it private. Everybody knows Mikaw sent Martin a message, but only Martin knows what it says.

This has gone sideways.  I'm seeing  "This message contains secure information" in several replies but the only private message I can see is my own. I don't see a private message from Mikaw or anyone else.

As for the topic at hand... currently working on making a shipping box from a TV box.  estimates on shipping so far are $77 - $105. ouch.

ps: Thanks for the pm assistance.

By Wookie: I just sent you a test PM?

Thanks. Yes, I do see your test pm that says "Test PM" ha ha.

To slmjim & Z1BEBE:  I do not see a pm from you. I just now took some measurements:  the header tip flanges are 39mm O.D. and 19mm deep.  Because of the flanges the 750E, 650-CSR, and some other 80s models use shorter half-moon exhaust pipe collars. you may be aware of this.  I don't have any header pipe spacing measurements because the system is disassembled and measuring off the motorcycle may not be very accurate anyway.  I'd guess that all KZ650 & KZ750 models have the same spacing; also the KZ700, ZN700/750, and ZR750 air cooled models (Zephyrs and ZR-7/ZR-7S).

KZ650F KZ750E Muffler System. Used. good condition. cont'd.
Looks good but the system isn't perfect.  There are a dozen or more minor flaws, most of which are kind of hidden.
There are no crease dents on the engine side of the header pipes, as mentioned earlier. That's just from the mfg process
for the double-walled pipes and showed up as dents in the pics to my eye. doh.
Pics from yesterday.  I don't think there are any more flaws to document.

#1 header (LH muffler) has a small chrome chip near the manifold

The #1 & #2 header pipes each have a small dent at the top bend. I didn't take a pic of the #2 pipe.
I don't remember ever seeing those. They're small, almost identical, but the #2 dent is slightly smaller. only slightly.
The #3 pipe is the best one, no dents or scrapes or anything.
#1 header pipe (LH muffler). small crease dent.

The #4 header pipe (RH muffler) has a dent on the engine side several inches below the bend.
This is probably the worst dent and can be seen in one of the earlier pics that shows the engine side of all 4 header pipes.

Thanks for the response martin.

The 1-2 and 3-4 head pipes are welded into the collectors.  That spacing can't change.  Center-to-center of either 1-2 or 3-4 at the openings where they enter the exhaust ports would be extremely helpful!

By slmjim & Z1BEBE:  The 1-2 and 3-4 head pipes are welded into the collectors.  That spacing can't change.

#1 is welded to the LH muffler and #4 is welded to the RH muffler, but #2 and #3 are clamped to the manifold of either side.  See last pic above of the #4 exhaust pipe >> #3 has been removed.  As far as I know, every stock KZ650 & KZ750 muffler system has 2 clamped header pipes. The earlier 650s have the outer headers clamped, but all 650-CSR & KZ750-4s have the inner pipes clamped.

FYI. The KZ750-L3, KZ700, & ZN700/750 models have a welded manifold with #1 & #4 welded in place with welded cross-over pipe.  The Zephyr 750s also have a welded manifold but with all 4 headers welded. On all of these models, the mufflers are clamped (not welded).

KZ650F KZ750E Muffler System. Used. Good condition. $195 Total Shipped.
Looks good but the system isn't perfect.  There are a dozen or more minor flaws, most of which are kind of hidden inconspicuous
There are minor crease dents on the engine side of each of the headers near the top bends. >> a different pic I had fooled me:  I looked at the pics after repacking the system and thought I was seeing some over-looked dents. but that was just from the mfg process for the double-walled pipes. doh.
RH muffler cover has a road rash scrape.  RH muffler tip has a scrape. Headers have golden discoloration at the top.
System does not have the muffler hanger brackets.  #1 header pipe has a dent on the engine side. #3 & #4 headers have small crease dents at the bends.
RH muffler has a small dent on top forward of the muffler mount. Some of the flaws are hard to see in the pics.
This system is almost as good as the 750E mufflers I have on my KZ650-CSR. In some ways it's as good or better but it has more damage/flaws.

KZ650F  KZ750E  Muffler system. Added this pic which summarizes most of the bad areas.
note: some of the arrows just point to the general location where the bad chrome is.
