I remember talking to that young lady that ran her 650 at Byron drag strip for years (can't think of her name but have it somewhere) and she had a 10.91 time on her plate (et racing at the time) .... it was upper 80s and humid and she said come back when its in the 60s and she'll have 10.70s on it. Maybe you need to move up north......:silly:

Jesus - home spun old 2 valve 650's running into the tens...deep respect for the builders, and new perspective gained for me!!!

I'm going to have to break into the 10's with Beater II now! No more excuses!

Just a question though - what do you guys / gals weigh in at? If you are under 130lbs, I can see how you are shredding my times...

Yep, me too, so the bar is raised ever higher...damn fast guys on these little engine bikes! How do you do that?!

Guess I shouldn't tell you I got eliminated heads up (same 12.00 dial in) by a Shelby Mustang GT500 two years ago while racing my (albeit tired and nearly stock) GPz1100, then?

BTW - I was stunned by how fast the kids running Junior Dragster were going. 7's in the 1/8th. And the hardware! These are not lawnmower engines! Most were 100% billet aluminum hand built versions of the Koehler and Briggs. They "crackle" like top fuelers! HOLY-S!

Young lady am guessing was 170 in leathers, helmet etc...... plus a slick, wheelie bar... .400 lift cam and I'm 98% sure 12.5 to 1. Read she ran 10.4s after fitting custom 871cc Arias pistons I think it was but didn't see it or get to talk to her about it.

I hope to be heading back to the strip on the 21st. My stock KZ1000 ran 12.20's just a few years ago. I went up a little to a 1075 Wiseco piston, race cut trans, no other changes. I am hoping to break into the high 11's. Can hardly believe 10's on a 650 motor, that's damn fast! Here's a video from many years ago:

Haven't been to the track in a while but have got in some street mile's on the bike.
Been so hot here I've been going for early morning ride's when it's cool I can add some timing and turn the power up
but if I do a close bike night it's a 100 degrees and it don't like that much timing.

So since I can plug in the laptop and preload four timing curve's I loaded an AM and a PM curve.
I set the PM curve to start pulling timing out at 7000 rpm's and pull one degree every 1000 rpm till red line.
It kill's the power some but it let's me ride it in this heat on 93 pump gas.
