My 900 used to get 40 to 42 at 70 mph with a stock motor. A 1000 I had did simalr with 26's. I don't know what I was geared at. Most likely a tooth higher on the front. Now this is longer diatance cruising. Now I get much less but ride it for a different purpose! A good day I can get it down to the low 20's  Your mmv.

Got a stock 1975 Z1-B 900 ,35mpg Is EXACTLY what I get and thats consistent...running 55-60 whether its city or highway.
At least I know when I get about 95-105 miles in on a trip. I better start looking for a station! LOL

Thanks guys, I am at peace now :cheer:

Roy-b-boy-b, I agree with what you say, checking mpg every time can give some good input on whether something is wrong, especially if it occurs under similar riding conditions.

I guess 32 mpg isn't too bad after all, so I'll live with it until I get a bigger tank. Thanks again for everyone's input.

Yes Dave you're right, we talked at Docs. I'll keep it in mind, but right now I won't be doing anything about it., maybe later.

I’m lucky to get 40mpg.
I see no timestamp your question was asked - so I suppose it could be posted today or 5 years ago and if it’s old - my apologies for the belated response.
