Currently restoring a 1983 KZ750L3. Every electrical accessories works as they should except for hazard.
LH & RH regular turn signals works perfectly. But when I turn on the hazard, only both LH turn signals are blinking.
Because both front and rear units are driven with a single gray wire on STD and hazard modes, I think it can't be the grey wiring.
I switched the relays but the problem remains the same (different blinking rate though but probably normal).

To help the gurus, below is a copy of the wiring diagram. Could be the hazard switch itself but unsure on how to check it.
Thanks for any help!![img] live.staticflickr.com/65535/52515818280_dac350f115_k.jpg

I swapped the turn signals and I sawpped the bulbs with no help.

Test the hazard switch, making sure both the green and grey wires under the gas tank are getting power when the hazard switch is pushed.
A 12 volt light bulb tester should do.

Hi Claude, check the voltages at the three points below hazards switched on with the black meter lead on battery neg

Orange/Green - should be within 0.5v of battery voltage
Grey - same as above
Green - same as above

Well, I thought a lot about the situation and because the main (long) grey wire was OK (as both RH turn signals were ok in standard mode), the problem was surely related to the hazard dedicated circuit.

This means the problem was within the hazard switch or the (short) grey wire that links the switch to the main (long) grey wire.

Hazard were not working and there was no juice to the grey wire where Wookie58 suggested to check. There was no juice either to the switch contact where the grey wire is welded. I took the hazard switch off the throttle housing and, as soon as I did, the hazard system began to work as it should.

I cleaned the switch with a lot of solvent but no change. I checked the (short) grey wire and all its strands were black cooked!! I replaced this section of wire and welded the new one to the switch. It worked ok but as soon everything was installed back in the switch housing, both RH turn signals stopped to work again in hazard mode.

I noticed that by "moving" the wires (not sure of the right english word to use; maybe "wiggling") I was able to have the hazard working ok. Maybe the hazard switch inners are somewhat worn out. But I finally succeded at installing everything back in place with the hazard system working perfectly.

This is a bike I intend to sell as soon as the restoration will be done so, for now, I'm leaving it as is. If the problem appears again, I'll swap the hazard switch for one I have in a spare switch housing.

Thanks for your comments guys! It is your input that made me twist my mind to decide which path to follow. Thanks again!!
