1978 kickstart only

Hopefully you guys still read this stuff..

Can I use any permanent magnet stator to make the bike kick start only? As in any stator from 1978 and up? 
I know how to wire the rest and the reg rec all that, just curious if any pma from 78 and up are good. Thanks 

Yes, all the stator is doing is re-charging the battery so any year will work.

I use to kick start my 650 drag bike total loss - no stator, no starter, no lights, only coils, a Dyna S, and a 5ah battery.

Okay thanks, you wouldn't happen to have a wiring diagram for that set up, do you? 
 

The starting method, kick or electric, is completely separate from the charging system.  In other words, you don't need to make any changes to your bikes charging system in order to use the kick start.
