Hi,

I`m working on upgrade my speedo witch has proximity switch.

My orginal idea was to drill a whole in the bracket for the rear brake, but I discovered the switch body is not made with
threaded, but need a bracket and a set screw....

So maybe the best solution is to drill all whole and make threade in the bracket to install the bracket and than point the switch to the right for the bracket....

Do you have experience with these ?

My goal is make it looks nice also and not like a "add-on"....

Sorry, haven't used one of these of this type - is there enough material to drill and tap the hanger for the set screw ? (possibly you could drill the mounting hole for your sensor closer to the edge of the hanger)

The speedo should read off the front wheel not the back to prevent eratic readings from wheel spin etc.
I mount the sensors off the front axle clamp bolts with my own bracket if the supplied one isn't suitable or can't be modified..

Your bikes are built soo fast Zed1015 the front wheel is lofting the whole time, how do you rectify that, haha. Gordone i'm sure that "sensor" came with your new speedo but if it didn't and you're using an Inductive type. Make sure those allen head disc retaining bolts are Ferrous, not stainless steel. Might have a hard time building the field, subsequent signal. Capacitive prox sensor would be better.

Most of these digital speedos are hall effect and come with a magnet to mount on the wheel or in the bolt head.
If that's the case then the bolt material doesn't matter.

A M6 or M8 bolt and a big washer that cover the speed sensor holder
would did the job (for me). There is no wheel spin on a less 100 hp bike, maybe only under
very wet or slippery road conditions!!!
