Tried searching the forum but I couldn't find any information on the topic.
I've completely rebuilt an old KZ1000 and now I am in the process of getting the gearing set up.
I'm running 17 inch wheels front and rear with a 180/55 rear tyre and I would like to run a 530 setup, has anyone got any recommendations on what gearing might be suitable for street use?
Not looking to do any significant touring but it would be nice to be able to "relax" when riding highways.

Best regards, and sorry if the topic has been discussed before

That must be good for close to 150mph with the motors you build, do you not have any issues with chain to swingarm clearance with a 42?

That's solid, thanks! Played around with a few configurations, might go with 18/42 as a first test
Cheers

This gearing with the radius of the 17" wheels gives more or less the same ratio and distance travelled per tooth as the stock 15/35 with 18's.
With the 530's closer pitch the 42 is a similar diameter to the stock 35t 630 and keeps the chain run clear of the swing arm.
I'd be dissapointed if i only got 150, a stock Unitrack with will do that..
