Thought some of you might find this interesting.  I'm playing with an 82 1100 Shaft and of course painting it up like an ELR.  I can paint the bodywork green and add stripes, but this model doesn't have a tail fairing, and it just doesn't look ELRish without one.  So I fired up the 3D printer and made one.  Pretty neat, we'll see if it holds up.

Howdy.  What material did you go with? Just curious.

This is ABS (Hatchbox).  Took a lot of learning to get it printing successfully, but I knew the standard PLA would not hold up.

I just picked up some TPU and plan to try some parts in that - more rubber like.

I imagined that a tail would look good on a KZ1100A, and this adaptation confirms it.
If possible, please post a couple pics of the entire bike...

Ender 6 printer

As it sits today, still a lot of work (which is the whole purpose, this is just for fun)

A tail definitely suits the bike!
All of the 3d printing that I've seen so far has had a fairly ropey surface finish; the end result of yours looks great. Did you use a filler on the final printed item, and if so, what did you use? Plastics are gnerally hard to get stuff to stick to them.

Printing is in ABS, pretty slow with a small layer setting.  Then a whole bunch of sanding before painting.  No filler, but I would bet an experienced body worker could do it better and faster with some filler.
