If I could do it over, I'd use Cerakote on my engine, instead of VHT's craptastic rattle can paint.

I did use Gunkote on my brake calipers and wheels, which turned out well, but I think Cerakote would be better yet.

I did my calipers and a few bits with gunkote, it has not held up very well to the UV but she's been outside awhile.

I’ve had some good results with Cerakote C-Series. No mixing or baking necessary, and it has great coverage. It’s all about prep though. You want to make sure you have your parts fully down to raw metal, and ideally sandblasted.

I plan so do a lot with C-series on my build as I don't have facilities to bake H-series (C is good for between 800 - 1200 degrees depending on colour (just takes a while to fully cure)

My Gun Koted brake calipers are flaking.  There is corrosion under the coating.  I'm surprised, because I media blasted them.  I'm going to have to redo them, and thinking Cerakote.  I can bake small parts like those.  What's the difference in durability between the different cerakote series?

According to their website the main difference between the C & H is that the H when baked is good up to 1800 degree's (probably only needed on exhaust headers)
PS: also the air dry (C) takes up to 7 days to fully cure

As near as I can tell, H series is the most chemical resistant.  I'm going to order some for my brake calipers...

The first project I ever tried Cerakote on was a set of brake calipers. I was rebuilding my bike after an accident, and accidentally stripped the original paint off the calipers with acetone while attempting to clean them. I originally bought some VHT caliper paint, but then stumbled on Cerakote and got curious. I figured there was a chance I could use it and cure them in my normal household oven. So I actually called them up to ask some questions. I explained the situation and their rep said that their C-Series was perfect for brake calipers, and there was no need to bake it at all. Those brake calipers have been on my bike ever since, and still look great.
