Im working full time at a local tech shop in my town. My first year working there is my only year experience in a shop, which, doesnt sound like much, but then again, im only 22, Despite not having experience, my boss looked at my resume and said "well I'll give ya shot and see what you can do" and so... here I am.

I do mostly all the oil changes and tire jobs, but i just recently got my NYS Inspectors license so im now 100% certified to perform vehicle inspections. I would've been able to inspect bikes too but the form for the class mentioned nothing about registering before-hand for the motorcycle inspection class. (they apparently have the cards made up by the time the course is taken, so you take the test and you're given your inspectors license right there)

I'm amazed at the diversity of members of this forum - a lot of intelligent ans talented folks!

I just have a job shop (machine shop) where I design and build inspection fixtures for the aerospace foundry industry. I also build or modify silicone wafer manufacturing machinery when necessary.

The nice thing now is I just built a shop on my property and got moved in over the past month. Commute is cut from a 32 mile drive to a 32 second walk LOL.

I live near Portland, Oregon and my rider is a '76 KZ900 I bought new. I'm also in the process of restoring another one and a '73 Z1.

I am the "art & screens" guy at a "Mom & Pop" t-shirt screen printer/sporting goods store/vinyl sign /embroidery shop...been around it forever...full time since 1980....screen printed bumper stickers for "show & tell" in 2nd or 3rd grade. No money in it, but I do have a commute similar to toolmaker's...`bout a 30 second walk! (So...there is THAT to recommend it! LOL!)
