Old 2 stroke oil... was created by !Seymore
Got any 2 stroke experts in the forum? I've asked elsewhere, but getting mixed messages...

I picked these (unopened) oil containers at a GS. Any thoughts on if dino 2-cycle is still good 10+ (maybe 20!) years later?
I know about fuels, but not oils... and this is mostly for watercraft.

I'm not opening this one...

TIA...

It sat in the ground for god knows how many millions of years, don't suppose a few years on the shelf is going to hurt it much.

Engine oil begins to deteriorate the day it's made.  The information I've seen suggests shelf life is 5 to 10 years, but that depends to some degree on how it's stored....temperature, humidity, etc.  I would not use oil that is 20 years old.  It may well be good but why take a chance?

I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.
