Adam, you weren't kidding about that tank having lots of low spots. Here she is in the white:

And I managed to get everything in primer today. There's lots more that what is pictured, but I lost the light, and I'm not moving those parts until tomorrow. The tank has two coats of epoxy primer and then three coats of 2K primer surfacer. The plastic parts have one coat of epoxy and two coats of primer surfacer. I figure that I want to keep my film thickness fairly low on the plastic pieces to keep the paint from cracking.

Yup, some will be dents, some will be waves in the factory metal...but all need to be straightened for that perfect, flawless reflection ;)

Not really, but the guy supposedly knows all there is to know about porting Hemi heads. I would have access to that 5 axis Haas, a 3D digitizer, and a flowbench. The guy spends his days making race heads, so you know he is a gearhead. It might just be a good relationship to foster. I ain't one to look a gift horse in the mouth.

I like flames, and I could totally draw that job out. I used to draw flames just like those in my notebooks in school. I'm just not confident that I can paint them and get it right. I'm going to paint the blue with white racing stripes like my mock up paint. The blue that I have selected is a Ford SVT pearl blue. It's quite a bit darker than the rattle can junk that I painted before. Once I get a little more confident with the process, I may try a flame job or something a little more wild on my new/old Suzuki.

Yeah Ted, that Citizen that I normally run is an oil slinger too. It's tough to see what's going on in there unless you turn the coolant off. I'm a greasy bastard when I have to do a setup. Sometimes that can be two or three times in a day just for the one machine.

Thanks Leon. That's the highest compliment that anyone could have paid me. I have always hoped that my thread would just be like an online extension of my garage. Building the bike is only part of the experience. The fellowship, ball busting, beer drinking and staring at a half finished bike, and wife cussing at me for dragging dirt in the house is all part of it. I think we have succeeded in that regard.

Alright, enough of that sappy stuff. Get your ass to work. I gotta clean out my garage so I can put up the redneck paint booth. Hopefully I can shoot some color tomorrow.
