After chasing the float height back and forth multiple times, I ran out of fuel, one is still out of spec, and I pinched one of the o-rings for the float bowl. GRRRR!

So while I wait for the new o-ring to arrive, it gives me time to refinish the top plates on these carburetors. Apparently I used some paint that doesn't like gasoline. Silly me... so these are going back in the blast cabinet. Going to switch to black paint that will put up with gas.

I used the same paint I used for the engine on the carb tops. Satin black. The two pitted ones were the outer chrome ones that had rusted pretty bad. Those will go on the inside carbs.

I had to make some spacers to get the Dyna coils to clear the frame brackets. The rear mount screws will need to be removed to connect the wires after the harness goes back in.
I got the replacement o-ring for the float bowl, and finished up the carbs. I like the black top caps even more now that I see them on the engine! The new throttle cable is lubed, installed, and adjusted. Now to finish cleaning the wiring harness so it can be installed.

Did I buy the wrong Dyna coils? Fitment listed my bike, but that's a no go. I don't want to cut up the stock mounts as they are powder coated, and the coils have no room left between them and the mounts.

I guess I need to design up some lowering plates. Probably means the coils would have to come off to remove the valve cover, though.

I thought they looked a little wide. Maybe you can rotate them? That Sucks!!
I don't know. Also you need clearance for the screws for the coil power. Chris

Pro maintenance tip - always remember to rotate your coils!
Here is my first prototype bracket to remount the coil at 90 degrees from the stock mount bracket. After I get the mounting holes drilled we will see if it clears the gas tank. Once I am satisfied with the fit, I will make a mirror image part for the other side.
