Wish I'd kept mine.
Prices for Gpz's are creeping up here in the UK, quickly becoming a collectors bike and a future classic.
Still miss mine cos it was in such good nick, couldnt get used to the handling though. Weird.

Fourtoes: yeah, I think the handling thing was what I didn't like about the '85 I had...seemed like my '83 was a lot tighter and gave way more feedback from the front end...seemed like...

I put progressive springs in the front and replaced the 4" rise stock clipons w/ the flat GPz750 clips...also lowered the front about an inch. Improved the handling and feel alot. Messing w/ the air forks and rear monoshock is a bit of a black art, but once dialed in this little buzz bomb of mine is a joy in the twisties and loves to rev.

I was indeed! Good to know, thank you. I think the 550 deserves to be resurrected (and doesn't look too far gone to me, really) especially given that it has less than 30K miles on it. But there's a part of me that doesn't want to feel like I'm abandoning Tess. I always promised her certain special parts would go to her when I find them. Resurrecting an Angel and keeping Tess happy at the same time should be doable.
You were refering to the oil cooler as a part that may end up being donated to your 650, right?
If you want to run the oil cooler the same as it is on "Angel" (to the "block" on the front of the oil pan), you'll actually need an oil pan from either a 750 Zephyr or any year of the 750 GPz models. They are a direct bolt-on for the 650's.

Great deal! I paid 50 bucks just for a fairing like the one on your bike. I would love to see you bring that GPZ back to life like she deserves:)
