Ride pics from Wednesday from the Shop (my house)
26 Jul 2007 19:01
Here is what I posted as a ride report on the local AK forum that alot of local Alaskan riders communicate through. Thought you guys might enjoy.
Start of the ride. Wednesday night ride to Hatchers pass. Pretty cool- I am sure Ethmc will post more!
Not much time for takin' pics- hauling ass mostly. Pretty spirited for a couple old bikes. Ethmc had pretty good style on the old bike. Nigel got some pointers.
I rode hard as I could two up- it was a great ride, great group of guys, fun fun until the Z1 died a bit later- but it really didn't "strand" us- it chose the easiest possibe scenario to break down. Damn, that bike is even good to us when it does give up the ghost!

Nice pictures. Alaska is the only state I've never been to on a motorcycle.
321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

Anytime you jump up into the mountain rides here, the pics seem to look like the alps or something:laugh:

Man, weather is so pretty today- sucks that I am at work- I would head out and not look back for a few hours. And it is forecast to rain on our usual wednesday rides dammit!

Hey CR,
I resized your pics just to make the text easier to read. Looks like you guys had a good time. Pretty dramatic country.
Thanks for posting them.
Hey I've got a question. I've started to collect motorcycle plates I've got one from Alaska but I'm not sure it's a motorcycle plate. Looking at your pics it appears that they say motorcycle across the bottom of the plate. Is that always the case?
TIA

I just checked MS streets and trips................
4081.4 miles from my door to Anchorage. On my H2 that would cost me about $612 in gas,the Z1 I figure about $420.now should I wear mittens or gloves?
