Bluemeanie
20 Aug 2007 19:45
We all know Bluemeanie will be down and out for a while.
Most of us also know how hard being out of commission can be.
Just wondering if we could maybe set up a "new bike" fund for them though we know it may have to go to the light bill or some such nonsense.
I was thinking if one of you Hollywoods would like to volunteer, those who wanted could send over a "special" get well card to be hand delivered. or if anyone has his snail mail address...

Very good idea on a get-well card!
I don't have his snail mail addy, but I'm sure we can coax his wife into giving it to one of us so we can mail him that card.
I have an idea to add to that!
What if we snail-mailed that card to one member, then after signing it he/she in turn could mail it to another member interested in signing it, etc, etc.
Then after we get the card filled with well wishes, or at least have all those that wish to sign to do so, we can either mail it directly to John, or have another So Calif member deliver it to him?
I know it might take a while to do, especially knowing how lethargic the USPS is in delivering stuff.
But hey, it's just an idea.

Sounds like a great excuse to get some breakfast dates together, then several can get together to sign at one time.

If that card makes it's way up here,I'd be willing to pass it on...for sure!
Chris(Retro) has My address.
We could pass it around Canada and let the Members up here get it signed, and then send it back south?...

I can't sign a card, because it would take about three weeks round trip to get here and back. If there's someone I can send my contribution to, please post a snail mail addy.

We could set up a "new bike fund" with a local bank. Then members could deposit donations directly into the account.

Great minds think alike. . .
What about this . . .
It might upset his wife
I have his address and would be willing to drive to Michigan to get this bike.
