Would you? (update!)
17 Sep 2007 08:35
my 84 gpz is my baby. then sat. i am at the mechanic i start talking about a kz900. he then says theres your start right there. it is a 75 z1. so now my world as i know goes into a spin. i start thinking about kz zone (a.p.e.) and all the z1 engine parts big blocks, locking clutches, and all the other goodies. wow there are alot of piston choices. what is a man to do? should i buy it? i can ride my gpz while i build it. what do you guys think. just dont badmouth my little 750.

Who would badmouth the GPZ?
I look at second (and more) bikes like Polygamy. If you can be good to them both/all then maybe they deserve you as much as you deserve them.

By the way, you didn't mention price/value. For me, *that* would be the determining factor.

Me, I love GPz's and will keep mine...no matter what...so, you've been offered a Z1...APE is the place and way to go, no doubt, but let me whisper 'restoration' in your ear...your Z1 will not lose value and may even increase in value...and the other thing is that by the time you have transformed that Z1 into a smokin' street machine, you will have spent enough to buy a new ZX1400 which will still eat that Z1 for dinner:)

abandon the gpz no way! i bought the gpz for transportation then as i found out more i started building it up. buying the z1 would let me build a bike that was almost to hot for the street. im still putting 810's in the gpz. i just bought a set of vm33's for the gpz but they would go great on the z1. as for the value of the z1 it is incomplete no carbs, no exhaust, and more simple things. it would be easy to get it on the road thou. im not sure what he wants for it but consider i bought my gpz running taged and inspected from him for $1000. a zx14 hmmm someday  restoration maybe the gold and black really looks goodB)

i thought it was a requirement to have at least one project going on to be here
go for it if you can get it cheap.
i would, but then again, i never turn away from a cheap kawasaki.

Go for it !!! Never, ever pass up a chance at a Z1 if you can at all afford it and/or the price makes "sense" to you. You will never lose money on a Z1 if it's stock/close to stock and a runner.
Hey, just hold it.....I noticed that I was trying to inject logic into a Kawi purchase!!! What was I thinking ??:silly: :side:
Nonetheless, grab it if you can....
