Inspection!!!!!!
01 Oct 2007 17:21
I went to get my bike inspected today. My usual inspector was out of stickers so I had to go to the Kawasaki dealer, the only other place it town. All the regular stuff passed, but he said that he couldn't give me a sticker because there was oil on the exhaust creating a fire hazard. It is dried grease from the chain but he wouldn't accept that. Said the side cover had to come off so they could check to see if there were any seals leaking. What a crock of crap,,, they just wanted to charge me their 75 buckazoid and hour labor rate.
. I told him to forget it and left. I did find another station a few miles from me though that will do it tomorrow. Guess I'll clean it off some before I take it though.
Ok, I'm done ranting.
Ride safe.
Oh, as a side note, while I was there, there is a guy and his wife talking to a salemen. They got done, went out the door, saw my bike and came back in. Asked me what year the KZ was and said that he had a painted 77 frame and body work in his cellar. He had sent the engine out to be rebuilt,,, didn't hear from the rebuilder, went to see how it was coming and it hadn't been touched. so, he took it to another guy, didn't hear any for about a year, and went to see what was up and the guy had thrown the engine out,,  . Said if I wanted it to come take a look. :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: I'll have to check that one out...

Yup, it's okay to sell a ZX-14 to an 18 year old kid with ZERO riding experience but a man with your experince ought to know how dangerous a little oil on an exhaust pipe might be! It might...no it wouldn't do that... I know it might...no not that..well it might....no...Oh, oh, oh I know, it might SMOKE! yah that's it!
