New - Conroe Vintage Motorcycle Club

I love Vintage motorcycles and cant believe there is not a
local club in the Houston area. So I am working on starting one. It is open to all makes and models from the 60's to the 90's

Please help spread the word and lets enjoy these wonderful
machines.

Conroe Vintage Motorcycle Club dedicated to the restoration
and enjoyment of all makes and models from the 60's thru the
90's.

I got this informative note from Mcdroid:

Hello Jim...the longer I live here, the more I think there is something wrong with the Greater Houston area with respect to two-wheeled motorheads. There was a chapter of the VJMC(Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club)in Houston back in the 1990's and it faded away...in fact there weren't enough people to man a VJMC booth at the 2007 Houston Cycle World bike show. Maybe Cycle World knows something...Houston is no longer on the slate of cities for their annual tour for 2009/2010. Perhaps all this is due to people like me who always seem to be too busy to do things...

Perhaps if the VJMC wasn't such an exclusive Hilda Club they'd get a bit more traction.

Truth be told, VJMC was a 'Honda' dominated organization and still is, to some extent. However, I think that there has been a conscious effort of late to broaden their appeal. I have been a member for several years now and am pleased with the diversity of what is presented in their magazine and on the VJMC site. But the overall point I was making is that Houston (the 4th? largest metro area in the US) is particularly boring with respect to motorcycles...unless it is sportbikes or V-twins (and mostly these), it ain't happen' around here...and Houston really was dropped by Cycle World as a venue!!!
