Crackheads stealing spark plugs was created by Zaddict
Man, I'm getting pretty sick of city living. I live in SF and three times now crackheads have stolen my spark plugs. They break them off and use the ceramic shards ("ninja rocks") to break car windows and steal more shit. This most recent time they broke some cooling fins on the cylinder head in the process. This is on a bike I lovingly restored. I'm a peaceful guy, but I would torture and kill one of these guys if I caught them. What can I do to prevent it? I installed an alarm, helps a bit. I'm thinking of just gorilla glueing the caps on.

That's why I would never live in San Francisco or any other ultra liberal controlled city. That is one of the things I like about living where I do after emigrating from the UK, 15 years ago partly to escape that soft on crime, while breeding as many criminals as possible crap, that had gone on my whole life, Generally here you can leave your vehicles and property and it will still be there and unmolested, when you return. In the UK I got sick of the routine of returning to your car in a parking lot, First, "good it's still there", then approaching anxiously to see if the windows are intact and your stereo still there. I'm not sure what you can do about that sort of thing other than finding somewhere safer to park your bike. That would really piss me off and if I caught someone actually doing that to my bike they'd be opening Alcatraz again especially for me. I'd fit one of those alarms that signals your cell phone when anyone touches it and then re- enact something like the scene from Pale Rider where Clint utters the immortal lines "there's nothing like a nice piece of hickory"

Then how do YOU get them off? I have a alarm under my seat. Are you sure they're not after the bike? I know how it is. I parked Bossie under my bath room window chained to a cast iron pipe. One night I looked out just in time to see one gang banger shove a knife into the belly of another one. The bitch told the cops I saw it. That's when I left LA for good. 7 years later there was cop cars in my front yard with a subpoena for me to testify against them. They left me in a room with them in San Fernando while they figured out if they could get a conviction. They let them go and I was glad I live 130 miles away. Left LA and never looked back.

I lasted all of three weeks in SF. Even LA was an improvement. Here in GA I have enough property to bury the SOBs and neighbors who would help me dig the holes and know to mind their own business. Yeah, it's a red state...

Well it kind of warms my heart that you guys understand my pain, and rage. It's like fucking with a man's dog. You just don't do it.

I am becoming radically less liberal the more I live here. Maybe I'm growing up.

I was thinking of gluing the caps on to the plugs, not on to the engine. It would make it harder to remove the plugs, but not impossible. I could just spin the whole cap/plug assembly to remove. So could the crackheads, but I'm thinking it would buy time. It would also likely trigger the alarm. I'd just consider each cap/plug combo disposable. The question is, would it increase the chances of them causing even more damage trying to remove the plugs?

I'd say so. The alarm I have was in my truck. Kragan $80 special. It has a blinking light when it's on. Beyond that, there's not much you can do. That song Life in the fast lane comes to mind. I do have a reputation for being ruthless and cruel. TO THIEVES. In the city you don't have that luxury. I have 5 acres and the National Monument behind me. Easy for low lives to get lost out there. Be careful.
I was a Democrat until 8 years ago. Not because I was a Lib, I told my mother my vote cancels out her's. The year before she died, she told me she "made a mistake voting for that man." I said "at least I lived long enough to hear that." :woohoo:
