No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationDoes anyone here have a Maier fairing installed & do you like it? Does it help much with the wind? Thanks.

..Just an example. this is the fairing I'm wondering about. I know there are other ones less expensive.

I had one like that before the wreck. It was made of fiberglass for a Suzuki as I remember, I loved it. I could tuck in behind it at high speeds and I felt as if it kept the front wheel on the road better. That one is made of ABS where the one I had came apart and tore me to shreds. I hope that one would be safer in a crash.

Hey, I have a similar fairing that I'd be happy to let you have for a very reasonable price.
I think it's this one:

'78 Z1-R in blue , '78 Z1-R in black, '78 Z1-R in pieces
My dad's '74 Z1

Swest, I currently have an Emgo fairing that I think is a copy of a Shoei fairing from back in the day. It's sort of a mini batwing & kind of ugly. hee. But I can tuck behind it at high speeds. I got it for pretty cheap as a test to see if I like having a fairing.

I've seen those Viper fairings, but the Maier is different from those & kinda similar to some of the KZ GPz fairings.

Looks to me that one is meant for higher handlebars. It would provide better wind protection than the one you are thinking on buying but it will create more drag than the smaller one. Can you see over it or do you have to look through the smoked windshield?
I bought a larger one for winter use to keep the wind off my hands. I noticed the drag the moment I hit the road. Slowed the bike down a bit and side winds moved me around a tad. I like the look of the quarter fairings but at my age, comfort is more important. Being HWY speeds and long stretches, having a windshield provides a relaxed ride and is better for my back.

Yes, I'm sure the mini batwing is intended for Ltd type handlebars. The shoei link above the pic shows a Suzuki with Ltd bars.
I wanted something cheap as a test. $25T was cheap. The top of the shield is just below my helmet chin, so I can see over it.
The shield plastic is kind of wavy, so it's not the greatest to look thru.

martin, I've owned a few Maier Mfg GP Sport Fairings and is probably my favorite. That with Daytona bars is a solid combo.

I did not see windscreens on the Airtech site? So I guess you have to find a screen on EB?

Edit: I didn't see it at first, but Airtech has screens & links to alternate screen suppliers.

Thanks. I like that the Airtechs are ready to prime & paint. But I also like the Maier because I can just put it on as is.

Edit: I didn't see it at first, but Airtech has screens & links to alternate screen suppliers.
