Kentucky Kickdown 2018
13 Aug 2018 07:54 - 14 Aug 2018 05:54
The 5th. (6th.?) annual Kentucky Kickdown is coming Sept. 14 - 16.
In years past we've closed a block-long street in east-downtown Louisville, and commandeered adjacent parking lots for this event.
Last year we just ran out of room, so it's been moved to a historic 13 acre riverside site just two miles from downtown Louisville.
Easy in & out access from the junction where I-71, I-65 and I-64 all come together at Louisville. Just one mile from exit 2 off I-71 @ Zorn Ave.
Attendance of Riders in the vintage/retro scenes from as far away as Chicago and Atlanta.
This site allows field events, a larger show laid out more conveniently, on-site camping, hotel accommodations 1/4 mile away (very large hotel parking lot to accommodate trailers), and on-site shelter if one just wants to hang out in some shade & people-watch. This year's Saturday morning charity ride benefits Home of The Innocents; the route is one of our favorite Sunday morning joyrides.

slmjim & The Lovely Z1BEBE will have at least two of our Z1's at the show. Stop by the VJMC tent & say "Hi".

Hopefully I'll be able to make it again this year. It's only a few minutes further away but I'm not familiar with the area other than seeing it on the map.

Weather is looking very good for Kickdown. Sunny & warm, nice breeze from the NE.
