VIN Number

Hello, new to the forum. I bought what I believe is a 1981 Kawasaki kz650 LTD. I was looking for the Vin and I believe I found it but I wasn't sure. It says, KZ550C-005590. It is right where the Vin would be. I have provided a photo.

For sure that's a KZ550 frame, not a KZ650 frame. Please post the engine serial number. If it has a KZ650 engine the serial number will be on top of the engine case very near the oil filler cap, and on the other side of the engine the engine size will be molded into the cylinders as shown below. Ed

I guess you meant to type KZ550 Ltd? From cyclechaos.com, the frame number is for a 1980 KZ550-C1 Ltd. You can check the engine number there as well.

The engine number is 0553 with some weird symbol

The KZ550 LTD engine was 553cc. It looks like you bought a KZ550 not a KZ650. Ed

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationI don't know, but take a look at the back cover of the Kawasaki Service Manual in the link below. It shows the various years and frame numbers for KZ550 models. Ed
