Wanting a louder exhaust. was created by bloodravenk22
I currently have a Cafe racer style 1980 KZ550 LTD and I'm just not happy with it being quiet even with it's Dyna tips. Any place or exhaust you all may recommend for me to look into? It would be of great help

The baffle? Yes but it's illegal. I can take it out and put the cap back on because the police can't tell me that I don't have them in.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationI'm not familiar with Dyna exhaust tips & didn't see anything on eebbaayy.
I don't think you can remove the stock baffles. You could try drilling holes into the Dyna end caps.

New exhaust system. possible fitment. I didn't see anything similar for the KZ550, but I would guess the ZR550 might could be used. The 550s use the same exhaust gaskets, but you'd have to verify the fitment. There's also an all chrome system, but it's $40-50 more expensive.

I don't know what Dyna tips are either. I assume they are an aftermarket muffler. Many aftermarket mufflers have a perforated core surrounded by a fiberglass mat to deaden sound. In some cases, the end cap and core can be taken out, the fiberglass deadener removed, and the end cap and core (baffle) reinstalled.

I remember those from the 1980s. Are they still made that way? The muffler on my 2013 Yamaha doesn't appear to have any user-removeable parts.

My GPz550 has what I think is a very early 80s 4-into-1 with that type of baffle. I couldn't get the baffle out 25 years ago (Hawaii = dampness = rust) and its condition probably hasn't improved since then. :)

I put this (well a larger size of this) on my 1100 and she sounds meeaaan. I have a buddy who has a '14 cb1100 and it sounded like a prius until he decided to get the same muffler as me. Now she growls pretty good. Make sure you get the right diameter though.
