1980 KZ1300
17 Sep 2019 20:53
Hey everyone new to the forum but not to owning KZ's. Had a question I'm hoping to get some feed back on. I've recently been in contact with someone that owns a 1980 KZ1300 that has been sitting around for 7 years in a garage with 53k miles on it and their asking price was $3,000. Me personally I dont think it's worth that much. I'm thinking $1,500 or so. I would go look at the bike but it is a few hours from me and I'm just going off pictures they sent. I've tried to find values online but no sites use mileage as far as NADA or KBB. Any thoughts would be great

$3k seems high. Figure on spending $1000, and lots of hours labor, bringing it back to roadworthy.

I was thinking the same thing on price. Even if the bike was in top condition I'd have a hard time paying $3k for it. I would love to have the bike and see it with me than sitting in a garage. I'd have to shoot $1k at them and see what they say

If I was advertising a bike for $3k and someone offered $1K I wouldn't respond. You might want to consider a different approach...

I wouldn't respond either. I'll have to ask what they are willing to go down to and see if I can work it down any more from there. It's been sitting for 7 years so who knows what it would take to get it running again.

I agree, $1,000.00 tops if it has been sitting. If it was in good running condition I'd go $2,500.00.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll find a way to mention $1,000 will be a little tough but I'll try it. I think it's fair with the age, mileage, and condition of sitting for so long.
