GPZ 1100 unitrack frame identification help needed. was created by kzstreetfighter71
Looking to see if any of the Gpz riders out there might be able to help me on this, Iv done all the searches and im still confused. The bike is definitely a uni track, it was first registered in Poland in 1986, either that was the date it was first registered in Poland after being imported or it was the date it was sold in the country from a dealer im unsure of. Here are the frame numbers and the back of the Gpz maunal that i would like to thank Texaskz in advance for posting up, well done sir.

I do not have one of these but the vin would appear to make it a B model most likely an 82. See this link from Vedder.com zedder.com/Info/82%20KZ1100-B2%20GPz.htm

You see here is the problem the B model wasn't a unitrack, it was a twin shock. This is whats confusing me.

It's a Unitrack but the frame etc has been re-stamped with B model numbers.

Have you seen this before? all the numbers match the documents and they are all titled and stamped for a 1986 bike, i would say im worried but the frame numbers look untampered.

The frame number has been re-stamped!!! Stay away from suspect bikes "legal" reborn in Poland. You could get any kind of paperwork for Dollars or D-Mark in this time period in Poland.

problem is she is on her way here as we speak, soon as she lands im going to sand the frame and see if there is weld marks on the neck from filler weld, run the documents too the tax office and worse case iv looked into an English title frame and use her a donor bike, seems like alot of hassel to go too for 500 euro though.

The fact it has a B in the vin made me thing it was a B model. I know there are differences between vin numbers from the north american market and the non north american market. As I understand it, in non north american markets they all start with KZT and then either 00 for a 1000 and 10 for an 1100 then the last 6 digits are the bike number. I am unsure of what the B would indicate?

My other thought is its a unitrack conversion, a gpz 1100B that's been made to look like an A1 or A2 not beyond the realms of possibility but i cant and wont know for sure until it lands in the country, the bike was insured up to September this year by one of my customers cousins.

That's definitely a Unitrack frame stamped with B numbers and the engine with earlier B numbers also.
Unitrack and B frames are different .
The Uni has a full cradle that loops from the headstock around the s/a pivot and back to the headstock with weld on subframe ( which can be seen in your pics) where the B frame is like the earlier KZ with the cradle extending to the rear shock mounts and then the top tubes extending from the headstock to the swing arm pivot.
Unitrack engine numbers start at - KZT10BE- 037201
And Frame numbers start at - KZT10A -015901

Begrudgingly agreed Zed, after a long close look at the pictures i have and the now glaring fact that not only is it a Gpz1100b number on the frame but its an engine number too, it has a "E" in the vin where the frame number doesn't. Ill use it as a parts bike, i still got it for low money and the shipping of 200 euro door to door, cant blame the kid who sold it . He had been riding it for 2 years insured in Poland so im sure he was oblivious. The bike was/is going to be my new everyday bike. A nostalgia build to remember by best friend from my youth who died of cancer 12 years ago when i was away and living in Canada, we both owned Gpz750's and thought we were the dogs nuts. The Gpz1100 is still a rare bike here in Ireland but not in the UK, there are frames available both USA and UK, ill hold out for a UK title 84 and matching cases and blank the frame number out again sell it too someone with a twisted legit frame. A little more cost but not any more work with the plans i have for her.

Are you on the Z1 owners club GB forum.
I'd stick a wanted ad on there .
A member in Hull had a Uni frame and V5 up for sale recently at £150 so shouldn't be hard to pick one up.
At the end of the day all you really need is a mullered frame with a UK V5.
