I don't think they're dreaming on that price. It will probably go higher. That's a Z2. Much rarer than a Z1.
I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

Actually the seller most likely is trying to rip off a buyer because the bike he is selling is certainly NOT a Z2. He states "The Kawasaki Z750 was launched in 1973. Sometimes also called the Z2, the new model was fundamentally a smaller capacity version of the Z1 (900cc), and the two bikes were visually similar, with the main difference being the displacement. " Fine, but his bike is NOT a Z2. Like the Z1 the Z2 was a 4 cylinder Kawasaki; a somewhat scaled down displacement version of the Z1. The bike being sold is a 2 cylinder bike, not a 4 cylinder bike. It is simply a two cylinder 1976 KZ750. Not rare, not particularly valuable, and certainly NOT a Z2! The image below shows a Z2. Ed

Yes, that was my take on it.
Quite a cock up in my opinion, Shannons normally do better than that.

Here’s the disclaimer at the bottom of the page. Basically they can say anything in the description with this little paragraph at the end. Buyer beware!
Note: Shannons advise that all potential buyers research and inspect motorcycles before purchase to authenticate originality and condition as a pre-purchase inspection report is not carried out on these vehicles.

The example here makes the seller look really ignorant, but I guess that's better than being knowingly deceptive or dishonest!

650ed, thanks for the Z2 picture but it doesn’t really show the true beauty of the bike. Here’s a better representation of one in full splendor

Apologies. You are right Martin. I didn't look at the photos closely. Only at the description.

Header says 1976 but the description says 1978, too. Either way, the bike looks pretty good for the mileage, 88,000+kms.
Back in the saddle and loving it! KZ1000A1

The point is the bike described is not the bike pictured. It looks good because it was fully restored, maybe worth 6K to the right buyer. IMO 8K is a dream for KZ 750 TWIN.

Is Shannons supposed to be reputable? That description page is awful. Among the other errors, specs say it's an In-line 4 cylinder.
