Temperature got up to 15C today with a little sun, so late in the afternoon I took one of my Z1's out for a 20 mile ride. Last fall I changed out the transmission but was unable to test it before snow came, so this was the objective. The old transmission was a close ratio one that ran about 4500 rpm at 60 mph. The new tranny is a standard one, and the bike now runs about 60 mph at 4000 rpm. Everything ran flawlessly, but I have a small oil drip from the pan, so will have to check it out after everything cools down.

I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

Last weekend, Sunday it was over 50 f here. I was just moving the ‘78 out to compair bolt heads and harness routing to the A4. Once it was out in the sunshine I couldn’t help myself.... I fired it up for the first start of the season. Next thing I find myself out around the block and upon returning to the end of the driveway I just couldn’t make the turn in. That lead to about a 20 minute ride thru the neighborhood.
