And the bike in the picture I'm quite sure I heard him say was a beautiful 1976 KZ900?   Also went on about how original the 1973 Z1 was that had the 4 into 1 pipe on it.

While we’re on the subject of older valuable bikes. I’ve been lurking on a few Z1 and Kz FB sites. Lots of faux experts. But what I want to ask is there a 1972 Z1. It’s been brought up several times. One guy posted a picture of one claiming it was a ‘72. Is it just titled wrong thinking a build date of 1972 made it a ‘72 but yet it’s a ‘73 model.

I think the first ones came out in 1971 but they were prototypes.  There's always an argument about whether a bike with a build date of 1972 is actually a 72 or a 73.  One of my Z1B's has a Sept 74 build date and was incorrectly registered as a 74.  But it's really a 75.

I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

Z1F-00001 to Z1F-04563 were made in 1972, some were titled 72, some 73.
