Riding the Dragon (Deal's Gap) on the R2
29 May 2009 16:59 - 29 May 2009 17:03
Trailered my Kawasaki H2 and Kawasaki KZ1000R2 to Deal's Gap to ride the Dragon. The KZ sure is a smooth ride (compared to the H2) however, is a little tricky to manage in the twistys at Deal's Gap. (318 Turns in 11 miles). Also discovered a bad head-shake above 135 MPH and will coasting with hands off the bars
Once I get some new tyres and fix the shake, I am sure this bike will handle just fine.

Oh man!...you just made me regret selling the H2 I had back in the 70's! That thing sounded wild with the Wheelsmith chambers on it and the scary power that came on so sudden.
Killboy takes some fine photos too!
I live only about 40 minutes from that road but haven't gotten my KZ over there yet. I have ridden it on my KLR650 many times, including once in a driving rain storm. Talk about having to pry the seat from my butt!
Here's my Killboy photo...
