yah, my interest peaked years ago. But some of these threads pique my interest once again...

Here are some great areas I've rode in the past few years as a bunch of guys just out to ride.

~ Elkins, WV area into Virginia
~ Red River Gorge / Natural Bridge Kentucky
~ Brown County Indiana south to the Ohio river

One of the guys you met (Brian Wringer) organizes a rally in the 3rd week of May in Brown County south region, he could give you some really good maps and such as to where to ride and such if you want to do that one.

I could probably could help get you with route maps on the other two areas too.

Main thing is to know what kind of ride it is, lots of curves? sightseeing? just a ride through the countryside? going to an event or something as a destination for the day? It helps to have a couple of these for those that just like to take a ride...
...and those that attack the road like it's a track. :whistle:

Turkey Run has some nice camping with cabins available myabe Les can Chime in with
some twisties to ride in the area

Jack also mentioned hoosier ntl forest was some great sight seeing I am open to
There is some good riding in southern Illinois also

Evansville has a nice park and some great blacktop country twisties but I think it's primarily camper
type camping

I am a kentucky transplant so i'm not as knowledgable about this area

missouri has some beautiful country side with some roads carved through the rocks

I think ohio tennessee and the carolinas have quite a few bike events and rides

I work full time, but if a ride was here in Indiana or right in this tri-state area, I would definetly be on board and would love to meet and ride with everybody. Just rode to Brown County on Monday--it is great riding. Good roads and lots of curves and scenery.

Indiana would be my vote, but I would still be interested in any of those states.

sign me up! i live in minnesota(midwest) and just my 2 cents some of the best road that i ride on a consistant basis are in red wing mn/pepin wisconsin. not only are the twisties never ending but theres parts that are damn near like a coastline big water on one side big clifs on the other eagles and stuff. pretty magical
