Mrs. bluej's rookie year
16 Nov 2014 06:39
After a rookie year of riding her little GZ250 through Iowa, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama and Mississippi , over 8000 miles Cindy gets an upgrade.
She would have been happy riding the 250 another year but it was obvious to me that she had out grown it and we traded it in on a used 2013 V Star custom with 1400 miles on it, Beautiful!
She rode it home in 28 deg. weather yesterday and loves it.
Looks like we didn't get snow last night so we are probably going for a ride today,
I need a windshield

Looks good...and you are die hard, hard core bikers if you're riding in 28 degree temps
Be careful on those cold road surfaces...

That's cool.
I just picked up an older 500 Shadow for the G/F
and got her signed up for the MSC for x-mas.

It's funny, normally she hates the cold but this is a game changer,
We won't be off to the races today but it does handle the corners a lot better then the 250.
That's great about your girl friend Dave , I highly recommend you getting a copy of "proficient motorcycling"by David Hough,
it is a great book for beginners and also a good book to review if you are an experienced rider.
We found a used copy last year for under 10 bucks delivered and have since passed it on to another new rider.
I just check and there is plenty copy's available, cheap.
It really helped explain counter steering and riding through curves very well ( something they don't teach you in the beginners course around here) and has stuck with Cindy to where it is second nature to her, she is very good in the corners .

Looks great! Please be careful. I saw a bunch of cars in ditches last night. I also saw a mini-van cab spinning like a top on an on-ramp. Somehow he managed to keep it on the pavement. We're getting a little snow at the moment.

Congratulations to you and MrsBluej! Well done. There are many good things to be said about a spouse that joins you in your hobbies!
My wife's first bike was a Suzuki Savage (that she quickly out grew) followed by the gpz550 and 1100. Ride safe brother!

Don't be ridiculous! It's only a flesh wound!

Kudos! Pretty bike...mama is a bad ass! Anything below 40 degrees, is too cold for me! Play together, stay together! C'mon Spring!
