This is what I did. Bottom fitting goes to the turbo with a restrictor in the body just above it per Mr.Turbo. Cooler feed line out of rear hole of oil pipe with a restrictor in the line to the cooler then returning to the crankcase, not the motor. I have a deep rear sump oil pan and a high volume oil pump. Not the best way to route it but it helps.

@sflaz1t - do you have any more pictures? I would love to see the hoses connected and how you routed.
What connects to the 90 degree elbow with the yellow teflon tape?
I have a similar junction that you show here that is used to feed my turbo and returns to the junction. Probably used the same way guys feed a oil cooler setup without a turbo.

Most of the pervious posts show methods for putting the oil cooler in-line between the pump and the feed path to the main oil distribution passage.
In this setup, the main oil path is still there, but oil is bled off and diverted away twice. First, for the turbo, and then for the cooler which you note returns directly to the sump.
How can you be certain that the main oil passage to the block and head is still receiving enough oil volume?

Re: Oil Coolers
14 Apr 2025 23:59I get having the turbo feed in "Parallel" with the main oil circuit but not the cooler. Surely running the cooler in "Parallel" through a restrictor instead of the normal "Series" set up is making the cooler ineffective as only a reduced portion of the oil is being cooled (I assume the high volume pump is compensating or your motor would have died by now) Later ZR750's do run the cooler in "parallel" (there is a small by pass port between the cooler lines) both both sides of the cooler are in the "pressure" circuit not a sump return- Excellent questionHow can you be certain that the main oil passage to the block and head is still receiving enough oil volume?

Running the cooler return direct to the sump is pointless regardless of whether the hi volume pump can provide enough flow to feed the head effectively or not and i certainly wouldn't run that set up with a stock pump.I get having the turbo feed in "Parallel" with the main oil circuit but not the cooler.
