Oil leak from head gasket 81 KZ305

I confirmed oil leak is coming from head gasket. Does anyone here know if a gasket for an 87 kz305 will fit an 81? Different p/n's but images look the same.
I know you are not suppose to use sealant on head gaskets, but thinking about putting a little just around the edges.

Looks to be the same shape, but slightly different material in the center of the later year gasket - I would say that they're interchangeable. I used copper gasket spray on my 305's head gasket with no issues, but I wouldn't use RTV or anything like that. 

FYI, if the oil leak is on the left side, I'd double check it isn't the camshaft oil seal that's underneath the points cover. 

I just degreased my bike and sure enough it looks like the cam shaft seal.

I'll give that copper spray on the head gasket next time I have the head off. For now I'll just keep cleaning the oil off the fins.
