valve guide or valve or both?

found 0 compression on cyl 1
all other cyl's were good
pulled head and found exhaust valve wasn't seating nor was it moving full range as it should in guide
puzzled though, when closing the valve seems to run into resistance and it gets real tight when bout 1/8" from seating
i can spin the valve but only if I pull it out further to bout 3/4" from seating

now, i knew i was getting close to needing that valve tipped, as my clearance was at .11mm with 2.00mm shim
didn't think with .11mm it would cause issues but knew it needed addressed very soon. i only went on very short test drives and bike would die when warmed up and come to stop
At this point, "i believe" when warmed the exhaust valve was hanging open and that'd caused piston kiss and screwed the guide and valve up. Lucky it didn't cause more damage.
i want to spin the valve with my drill to check straightness but drill just went south on me. figures uhg
rolled valve on flat table and no sign of being bent but i like the drill test better

don't know if i need to get a new exhaust valve, guide and seal?
uhg problems with this bike seem to never end, probably not going to be able to ride this season though hopes were high
the ol gray mare just ain't what she used to be, and the ol pocketbook ain't the same either. so frustrated!

My first thought is that it's bent.  Since you have the head off why not pull another valve and run it in #1 to see how it moves?  While you're at it you should check the side to side play to see if the guide is OK.  If it's OK you may get away with replacing the valve with another one and not have to change the guide.
I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

Certainly sounds like the valve is bent, try one from another cylinder to confirm the fault is restricted to the valve only

ahh i see, thanks! so that's what i'm currently doing so i'll be back with findings
the guides were all in good shape with nearly no side wobble
valves and guides are from an area i haven't frequented often and knowledge is minimal
i do have a good manual though
