Pingel Petcocks and whatnot
05 Sep 2022 05:56
A few questions.
1. Does anyone here use pingel petcocks? Im thinking of having one made for my 1977 KZ750 TWIN. Im afraid of the Ebay chinese knockoff replacement petcocks.
2. Can a Z1000 or Z900 petcock fit a ZK750?
3. Has anyone had any experience having a custom pingel petcock made? I need one with two ports at a 90 degree angle apart, like on the original petcock

As ever youre super helpful!
Yes I was just researching that, but felt adding the Y might make things look not so neat on the bike. I may instead use one of these since the original petcock as a port that goes to the center of the bike. I can turn it so its suitable
Now I just have to figure out which Pingel fits the KZ750 thread.

I have one on a stock KZ440 tank. It has been fine for about 3 years now.
I needed the Pingel adapter plate. Pretty sure the screw holes lined up perfectly. I may have had to slightly open the hole up for the petcock on the tank.

Thanks. I just found out that Harley Petcocks fit on KZ750 Twins. See here - an old post from a different forum, but which still may be useful for all.

Buy it and never look back. Smooth operation. I love mine. I took a lead from 650ed and used 5/16 stainless beverage fittings. Single outlet to dual carb feed.

I have been using the Pingel petcocks on my z1900's for 12 years now. My set up is using the High flow unit with only one outlet. From there I use their filter(connected to the petcock with a short length of gas line) with 1 inlet and two outlets which feed filtered gas to the carb bank. Makes for a very clean setup. Not sure how your Kz750 is set up but Pingle should have what you need. I assume the stock petcock screws on like the Z1.

I have a pingel too and love it.
My one gripe is that the reserve position is not intuitive... by that I mean if I'm riding down the road and need to switch to reserve, it's not obvious that I've moved the lever to the right position without looking down at it.

I have a pingel petcock on my 78 kz1000 with dual 90 degree outputs, no reserve. It was not a custom. Bought at the bike parts place near my house in the early 90s.

I also use pingel high flow single output on my Z1B with 29 smoothbores for several years now. Never had a problem.
