Close up of the lobes would help.

What model is your 82, J-K-M or P ?

Thanks for posting the pics. The lobes don’t look that bad by my eye, I wouldn’t have thought to measure. Somebody please point out something that would have tipped me off.
I have a ZRX which is well known for having cam lobes which wear through the case hardening in places at very low miles. You can see the cast iron in the holes. But they seem to stop wearing any further by 20 - 30 thousand miles. The wear doesn’t cause any issues outside of crapping your pants the first time you see it.

I have to say (IMHO) I think those lobes don't look to have worn nearly a full millimetre. I would have expected them to be dull not shiney as they would have been well and truly worn through the hardening ?

I bought it used, but as far as I'm able to tell, it's a J.

The camshafts in that picture are from a KZ1000K, LTD, so they are still within spec.

Thanks for that. I've been under the impression since I got it that it was a J. The table that you published confirmed that it was indeed a K. Looking at that information, the lobe that is worn most worn is still barely in spec.
Just out of curiosity, how were you able to tell by looking at the cams?

To me, from the pics you posted, the cam lobes look fine. They looked like any cam I have ever seen in an engine.
Oil starved or otherwise damaged cams look it.
