135 pounds heavier than a GPZ1000 with only a 10 HP advantage, power to weight ratio only 11% above that of a GPZ750.

I agree with TexasKZ. If you convert to chain on the right side, you can probably avoid having to re-engineer the rear brake setup and leave it where it is.

Re: ZG1300-A1 shaft to chain
08 Sep 2023 17:23 - 08 Sep 2023 17:25And here lies the biggest challenge which is why there aren't too many chain Drive 1300's out there. Regardless of whether you go left or right you will need a bevel gear set up and jack shaft at the back of the motor. On the 1300 the final drive bevel is part of the cluster inside the main casing and the output shaft doesn't exit the main casings so there is nothing to attach a sprocket toI agree with TexasKZ. Well that is a bite in the hienie.
On the other hand, the VMax seems to get along just fine with a shaft.

Thanks for all your input I have found USD front suspension that will fit, swingarm and wheels, back tyre just need to find front tyre to match. I have a few ideas about the chain drive its the weight I'm trying to reduce, back end and wheels they are just to heavy. The whole bike is heavy needs to go on a diet.

Re: ZG1300-A1 shaft to chain
29 Sep 2023 17:10 - 29 Sep 2023 18:34I think it was less than 10 hp difference (130 for the ZG1300 vs 124 for the GPZ1000) and once the shaft drive robs 20% of that, the HP to the wheel would be less than a GPZ1000.135 pounds heavier than a GPZ1000 with only a 10 HP advantage, power to weight ratio only 11% above that of a GPZ750.

Yes I know but you can't beat the sound of a 6 with megaphones going down the road, plus I already have a few ZX750 turbos and a 810 Z650 turbo its just different.

Anything is possible but I'm in the research and design stage at the moment, Good thing is I have found a good USD front suspension that can be made to fit.
