Thanks Wook. Yah, my brain just isn't working some days. I did read that, but it went in one side and out the other while I typing my last reply.

7mm i.d. = 0.275". 0.25"=1/4".  5/16 = 0.3125" = 8mm. the fuel line I get is 5/16. vacuum line is 1/4. the kaw dealer doesn't carry metric. if the line is too tight, upon removal, a nipple can get pulled out of the petcock. not a catastrophe. just a nuisance.
