Petcock

I have a couple questions. I have a KZ1000 tank with a vacuum  petcock with one small outlet and larger outlet that has settings for, on - res - pri. I want to put this tank on my 78 LTD but the petcock from the LTD tank is a pingel with just, on - off - reserve. I don't know where this vacuum line would go, or if I could just plug it off. However if I plug it how would I manage fuel flow for on and off? Also this oblong "o-ring is proving to be elusive. Plenty of rebuild kits on eBay but none with this "o-ring". I looked to find a replacement petcock that would just be on - off - reserve but couldn't find any with 44 mil. spacing other than Chinese which I'm not trusting of. Any guidance would be appreciated.

It needs to hook up to a vacuum port. Depending upon what carbs and carb holders you have there may be several locations to use. Either a port on a carb body (some sets have one on each) or if the carb holders have what I call test ports one of them can be used for it.

If none of that is possible you can use pri and off as settings on the petcock, as pri does not require vacuum to flow fuel I would also plug the vacuum port on the petcock so no leaks happen..

They are VM26's. #2 & #4 have these tubes coming from near the fuel lines. Are these vacuum lines?

To me those hoses are connected to vent ports (on fuel in the bowls)  not vacuum ports, but what do I know?

If that  petcock is from a 1981 or newer KZ1000, the oring is still available from Kawasaki, so all of the usual sources for oem parts should have the. You also need to replace all the rubber bits inside and to insure that the seating surface for the tiny oring is in near perfect shape. A light polishing will do it some good.
