Can the speedometer sensor itself be opened to access the wiring connections?

Can the speedometer sensor be opened to access the wiring connections? Speedometer quit working and wiring connections (from inside headlamp case) check out fine. Thinking it's the 3 wires that go into the spoeedo sensor (inside the unit itself). Unless it can be opened up to insure wire connections, I'll have to replace it, however I'm hoping I won't have to do that. Please let me know.

Thank you all for everything!

Not that I'll be able to answer the question, but does your motorcycle have a stock Kawasaki electronic speedometer or mechanical type? The diagrams at Partzilla are showing the latter.

If it looks like this, then it's electronic...

Several years ago my bike had intermittent speedometer needle issues, and the cause was a faulty wheel speed sensor. The replacement I found on ebay fixed that...
