That wiring has been heavily modified so it will be almost impossible to know where those wires should go for certain, but we can make some guesses.

It appears you have an aftermarket regulator/rectifier combination unit. You will want to find out who made it or at least what the wire colors represent. The alternator uses a green wire to power the field coil. So maybe that green wire goes from the reg/rec to the alternator (left side cover).

I don't think the white wire should tie directly to a brown wire. Most often they are separate circuits. The output of the reg/rec may be a white wire which would go from the reg/rec to the battery. There would not be a brown wire involved in that path.

Brown is usually switched 12v and goes to many places on the bike to power many things. The regulator will probably use a brown wire to power the control circuit for the regulator.
