Battery ?
26 Nov 2020 23:10
What battery are you using in your bike ?
I`m looking for some feedback to see what people are using and maybe change my plans...
Right now is the plan Batterie Yuasa YB10L-A2 for my 1981 KZ650-D4, with 1981 z750L engine.

I use only Yuasa AGM in my Z1's. I have a Shorai lithium ion battery in my wife's KZ550. I buy north american made or japanese made batteries. Will not buy chinese made batteries.
I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

First, I will never again buy a battery that is not sealed. All of my KZ bikes had acid damage to the battery box, frame, and swingarm. I'm done repainting damage from leaking acid.
I find AGM batteries work well and are sealed. I have been buying generic AGM batteries for years now. Whatever happens to be easy to get. I've got at least 5 years out of the last few.
I use a trickle charger to keep them charged. I take them out of the bike and store them inside during the winter. I used to only get 2-3 years out of them. The trickle charger and warm storage seems to make a big difference.

Yuasa AGM for my KZ1000. I bought one to replace the regular Yuasa that was in it a year and a half ago. I'll be AGM from now on.
Back in the saddle and loving it! KZ1000A1
