It depends on what the sensor pickup looks like.
I would probably mount the pickup under the swingarm and mount the magnet on the edge of the rim with epoxy.

Have you considered mounting the sensor near the output sprocket on the engine? I've seen examples of this. That seems easier to mount the sensor much closer to the magnet (I assuming you're talking about a magnet sensor). I wonder if you could also do it with a coil type sensor using the sprocket teeth?

A little difficult to see, my activ speed sensor set up. A passiv sensor need neodym magnets in the break rotor bolts.

Thank you all
I’m just collect information
I’m going to rebuild eletrical harness include new speedo.
I have not decided if I will go for GPS speedo or not. If I go for speedo with sensor can I use it to the m-unit also.
I don’t know if there is a big reason to have speed sensor on the m-unit...?

You don't really need it for the m-unit.
The motogadget app uses it for logging your speed.
Which is funny because the app uses the gps in your phone to show your trips.
I think one day they may update the firmware to use the gps for speed.
My speed sensor is disconnected.
You should be able to use the sensor for both(speedometer and m-unit)
