86 ZN1300 Spark plug wires.
02 Oct 2021 12:32 - 02 Oct 2021 12:49
Will be replacing the spark plug wires/boots on my 86 ZN1300 Voyager. It seems the OEM spark plug boots are molded onto the wires. No problem - will replace with new wires and screw-on NGK boots. Curious if anyone knows if the original wires or boots are the resistor type?

you have to choosen between resistor spark boots or resistor spark plugs but don´t use both together.

I think the factory installed resistor boots.

Just following up on this....
Seems to me that 3~6k ohms is low considering typical spark plug wire is 10~12 k ohms per foot and the longer wires are about a foot.
Seems the ZN is a bit of both. Standard plug is BPR6ES - I believe the 'R' indicates a resistor type, and the wires are spec'ed as follows:this is dependent of the spark plugs you want to use, only spark boots or spark plugs comes resistor type.

Re: 86 ZN1300 Spark plug wires.
04 May 2022 20:24This chart shows non-resistor plugs. Resistors are not needed at all unless your Voyager has a radio, then either the wires or the plugs need to have resistors to avoid strong static on the radio.Just following up on this....Seems the ZN is a bit of both.
