Hi people another boring question but I am new to this
my kz1000A has no lighting coil and my main wiring harness has been cut around
Question does my engine have a lighting coil with a 6 way block connector and other wires or 3 separate wires , are these new coils any good I guess from china and is buying second hand risky as they might not work
many thanks love these cool bikes

Partzilla has parts diagrams, so you might be able to figure out what's what. Please note that everything shown in a diagram may not be applicable to your model year as a particular diagram may cover 2-3 yrs >> the charging system components for example. Early models may have a separate rectifier & voltage regulator, while a later model could have a reg-rec combo unit instead. In some cases you can use the later stuff. Another example is the ignition system >> early models could have points ignition while the later ones could have electronic ignition w igniter. Also, somebody could have swapped out components already.

What do you mean by "lighting coil"? Do you mean ignition coil? If so, you should have two, located under the fuel tank.
I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.
