23 Nov 2021 12:52
Question about the kawasaki SH232-12 electrical voltage rectifier regulator, can this type be changed by the SH532 -12 or not?
Connector and colors are the same!

Most likely yes. The 532 came from a police bike maybe? It's possibly meant to handle more power than the 230 series, I'm guessing.
Any more -modern, from the 2000's, Kawasaki factory reg/rec with three yellow, one red, one black, and one brown wire should swap with any other one. The connectors may differ, requiring splicing wires, though.

I have 1980 KZ750e1
A few years back I swapped out the old SH230-12 for a newer SH530-12 from an 05 or 06 EX500 Works just fine
The connector block on the newer unit was female and on the old was male . Not a big deal to fix

I'm not sure if this helps, but my bike came with 530 series and it's an 82 750. Wiring seems to be all the same.
82' KZ750-R1 cafe racer style. Clip-on, Rear set, Fork-Brace, Mikuni Flat-slide (forgot the size), Kerker.
84' GPz750 (basket case). everything are in pieces.
89' ZX750-H1 (ZX-7 Ninja). Resurrection project are on going with my KZ750. Everything is stock.
