Routing diagram for wire harness

Hello all,
I am putting a used harness on my 1979 kz650b3 as the bike did not come with one. Does anyone have a link showing how the harness is routed through the frame?

I'm not aware of any such thing being available. The diagram drawings might help some. see links below. The main center harness is usually on the LH side of the frame, because the throttle cables are routed on the throttle grip side. Wire colors & connectors should give some clues about the orientation. Band clamps keep the main harness in place. I would get Kawasaki clamps or something similar. OEM are still available. zip ties might chafe the harness & possibly wear the frame paint. maybe not.

From the diagram the main harness has 2 wires near the #8 clamp: if black, they could be for the clutch switch.

notice the oval damper. you'll have to figure out what wires go thru there.

my 650-CSR tail light wires go thru a rubber fender rubber grommet. the wires are wrapped & the tail light pigtail has a protective sleeve. the csr Rr fender has a protective plate where the tail light bullet terminals are connected. wires under the fender are exposed to road grit & debris from the rear wheel.

Thanks for the help. I do not know what you mean when you say that there are two black wires for the”clutch switch”. My clutch handle did have a two wire lead attached to it, but I removed it as I did not know what it was for. I thought the handle was from another bike and the wire was probably for a disc brake stop light. I am having an issue with the clutch dragging when the handle is in the fully disengaged position. Does the “clutch switch” somehow help to disengage the clutch?

The clutch switch has nothing to do with the action of the clutch. It serves as a starter lockout switch. Without it, you might press the start button without pulling in the clutch lever & have the motorcycle lurch forwards, possibly falling over.
As for the clutch dragging, do a basic clutch adjustment first. If the motorcycle has been sitting a while, it may be stuck clutch plates. sometimes an oil/filter change & riding the motorcycle solves that problem. or you may have to remove the clutch pack & clean it or something. I've never done this, so the advice is second hand. hee.
edit: if wires near the #8 band clamp are blue & brown, those could be for the Fr brake light switch at the fork junction.
